A Short Coronado Report (7/4/01)
A short Coronado report from our ace swimmer and field reporter Jenny Cook:
The Coronado one mile on our nation's birthday was more like a 1 1/2 mile. Water temp around 64 degrees. Strange weather.. sunshine, overcast, misting
and then rain followed by sunshine. Jenny won her agegroup (again! yawn...), finishing in a blistering 29:20. Congrats to Jenny and all that participated! For the official results, go to this link .
For my part, I braved the choppy seas near the Manhattan Beach Pier with Bill Ireland early July 4. We were toasted with a Bud Light by a passing kayaker, and followed by many SCAQers at 8am and 8:30am (the official SCAQ oceanswim workout times). A fun time was had by all.
Hope to see you at Newport if not before oceanswimming buddies.
